This mogopod worth the money

I was browsing over my reader feed and saw this great product by Carry Spreed. They live up their reputation - speed.

For photography, everything must be sturdy and steady while you handheld the camera, with a tripod or mono pod beside you, that is your best partner!

Having said that,  extending the leg is another headache if you are using tripod. Lot of time will be wasted. How about monopod do the job?

Yes, it will.
But, the extending of leg will cause you some time tho.

For this... I am amazed by this mogopod by carry speed.

 

It allow you to do upside down recording too.

When extending the leg, all you require is just 1 twist! Yes, you see it right, just ONE time. You get to any height you wanted, close it swiftly and move on to another location.

Isn't that great!

Photoshoot - Friend's Forever

It is a wonderful thing that your client know what they want.

In this case, my job is absolutely easy and less stressful. The only main focus I require is finding the location.

Sourcing for location is not an easy task. You got to make sure that the client feel comfortable with the surrounding. Having too many people around, it make them feel uncomfortable. Hence, lesser will make them go wild.

Always remember, the first few shots are always down to the drain because they are not warm up yet. Do your best, get the shot, but don't tired them out.

For friend's forever theme, this client of mine, cherished their friendship for years. So they decided to engage me as their photographer, to remember it forever.

At the same time, one of them had just graduated and wanted to take a photo of her in the gown.







Friends consists of fun, lovingly, laughter and cherish.

Making sure they must enjoy the whole photo shoot session to bring out their happiness. This is really tough, but yet very challenging.

I am glad that this photo shoot session is well worth.

Photoshoot - Graduation

Graduation photo shoot is one of the most relaxing job of all. You do not require to run, drive to ensure you are faster than the wedding couples and fearing that someone will block your view.

But in this photoshoot, you need ensure of strangers coming by.

There will be a lot of people walking past you, looking at your subjects and try to take a quick snap of it! After all, it is a fun job, so let it be. So long as no one is coming to disturb you.

Graduation photos must have its typical style.

1. Posing in front of your school campus
2. Posing in front of your school name
3. Posing when you are looking high up

These are the three which I did a research via internet, and it is very important.














Commanding not 1 but few friends together can be tough too. But, when they get into the mood, chances of getting nice images is a plus point!

Ensure that the subject don't feel embarrass, making sure they feel comfortable, tell them what they need to do - natural look is a lot better than acting type, most importantly: FUN!

Audio set for field recording

Knowing audio is easy, but to understand them technically is not going to be an easy task.

Being an audio producer for 7 years for inflight entertainment, I have to deal with songs been embedded with copyrights protection, recording and editing of audio.

There are a lot of audio programs in the market you can choose from. The most commonly heard will be Avid Protools.



To cut short, this is my take.

Protools - great for audio editing and post production work.
Cubase - great for midi, music composing.
Logic Pro - great for midi, music composing.
Samplitude - great for audio editing and burn on fly.

For your information, I am a big fan of Cubase and Protools.

Here's my past work to make your ear feel bad.




I had always wanted to deal with audio, even when I became a full time photographer. So, I decided to get my knowledge and think of a way.

Finally, I decided.

I shall record the dialogue between the Justice of Peace and the wedding couples during their vow!

To prepare for that, I bought Tascam DR40 handheld recorder. In fact, I got it at a real deal because of staff discount. I was in the company who are the main distributor of Tascam products.

I like the product to be light and easy to handle; another handheld product you can look at is Zoom H4N.

Let's not forget the shot gun mic; this is for JP only, because there's only one person.




For the couples, I use a condenser Audio Technica 2035 mic. This is a good mic because it is able to pick up their talking despite moving around. I did not set the low cut because everything will be too soft, especially when outdoor is very crucial.

To prevent any loss of audio, or anything that hit on the mic, I still have my Tascam built-in mic. The mic had been set to Stereo instead of X-Y axis. So both L and R mic are able to pick up from the parties.

Of course, having said that, there are a lot of work to be done during editing stage - not going to be easy for sure.
